About the work
Do you run my ads for me?
No. We give you the plan, the rules and (with Launch) 6 ad designs as Canva templates you can edit, and you run them. Every recommendation says what to do and why, so you're never stuck waiting on someone else.
I've never run an ad account. Is this for me?
Yes, as long as you've had some sales and have money set aside to test. It's written for someone who has never run an ad account, and every term is explained the first time it comes up.
Isn't all this on YouTube for free?
The buttons are. YouTube can show you how to set up a campaign. It can't tell you what your customers say, which of your ads to switch off on Monday, or what to fix on your shop first. That's the part we do.
How is this different from a report that sits on a shelf?
It's built to be used every week. Your fixes are ranked, so you know where to start. The Monday Check tells you what to do with each ad. And you can judge the quality before you pay, because the free teardown is made the same way.
How do I know it'll be about my brand, not a template?
Every angle in your playbook traces back to something your own customers said, and we show you where it came from. You'll see this in your free teardown too.
Who actually writes it?
Our team writes your playbook from research on your customers. We've had years of experience in the ecommerce space. We use some AI tools to help gather and sort the research; our team reads it, writes your playbook and checks everything before you get it.
Will I be on my own with it?
With Launch, we look at your numbers with you on a call at day 30. With Playbook, everything is written so you can follow it on your own, and every term is explained the first time it comes up.
Can I still hire an agency or freelancer later?
Of course. You'll know your customers, your numbers and which ones to check, so you can tell whether they're doing a good job.
About the free teardown
Is the free teardown just a sales pitch?
It's built to be useful whether or not you buy: what your customers already say, the biggest leak ranked first, and one thing you shouldn't change. If a playbook isn't right for you yet, it says so.
What do you need from me?
Your name, email, your shop's web address and three quick answers: has anyone bought yet, roughly what you can spend testing ads each month, and do you want to run it yourself. We only look at public information: your shop, your offer and what your customers say about you in public.
How long does it take?
Back within 2 working days.
About money and results
Do you promise results?
No. Nobody can honestly promise your sales will rise. We tell you what's likely and why, what to measure, and what won't work too.
Why pay once instead of a monthly retainer?
A retainer is paid every month, whatever comes back. A playbook is paid once and you keep it. Do the sums against your own margin and decide.
How long until I get my playbook?
Your playbook arrives within 7 working days of your completed questionnaire, or 10 with Launch. Often sooner.
Do you need access to my ad account?
No long-term access, ever. Your ad account, pixel and files stay in your name.
What happens to my sales figures and customer details?
They're used only for your playbook. We never publish them, sell them or use them for anyone else. Some of the research tools we use are AI tools, so parts of what you tell us may pass through them while our team works on your playbook. The privacy page has the detail.
Is there VAT on top?
No. RetainerFree isn't VAT registered, so the price you see is the price you pay.
Can I get my money back?
Made for you, or your money back: if your playbook could have been written for any brand, tell us within 14 days of the day we deliver it and we'll refund the £1,000 Playbook price. On Playbook + Launch, that's the £1,000 Playbook part, not the full £2,000.
